Nurse Office Information

DPS Board Policy states that students showing symptoms of a communicable disease, an infectious condition, or illness or disability of a serious nature shall be referred to the school nurse. The school nurse shall report the presence of a communicable disease if action is advisable to protect the health of other students and staff.

How Sick is Too Sick? is the official public health guidance from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment to determine if children and staff should stay home due to illness. This document is given to all ECE families and caregivers in the ECE enrollment paperwork.

If a student has a known food allergy, there are required precautions:

In the event that a child is given a known allergen,this is a reportable incident and will need to be reported to the DHS Hotline and Licensing. If the student requires medical attention, an injury report will also be required.
